The death of Senator Frank Lautenberg today was a loss to the Congress, his constituents in New Jersey, and especially to the families of those killed in the Lockerbie bombing. He was the best friend we ever had in the Senate, and was never at a loss to “do the next thing” since this tragic event nearly 25 years ago.

Washington, November 5, 2007 - The U.S.-Libya Business Association today is holding its second annual conference on U.S.-Libya policy. Kara Weipz's brother Rick Monetti was one of 270 victims who died when Libyan terrorists bombed Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988.

October 16, 2007 - The United Nations is scheduled to vote today on Libya's membership to the Security Council. Following the conclusion of the UN General Assembly, unnamed senior U.S. officials stated that the U.S. would not block Libya's bid, a departure from its 15-year long effort to bar Libya from the Security Council.
