22nd Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery

The 22nd Memorial was a small and intimate ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. The speakers included Dick Marquise and Admiral Cathal Irish Flynn. In addition to the many family members and friends of those killed on Pan Am 103, we are joined every year by representatives of law enforcement, intelligence and prosecutors, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Central Intelligence Agency, Department of Justice, Department of State, Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation and others. The Pender United Methodist Church Choir was excellent as they are every year and performed several moving pieces including "Under His Wings", which was composed in memory of the victims. We are grateful to the officials of Arlington National Cemetery and the Department of the Army for the Color Guard, the Bugler and the Chaplain. Our new bagpiper nearly froze in his kilts, and the many who sent flowers and wreaths are in our debt as well. Finally, this year we were joined by a group of Remembrance Scholars from Syracuse University who took part in reading the names of the victims. It is notable that these students were not even born in December 1988, but they demonstrate that the memories we cherish are not just from families and they will never fade away.

Both Dick's and Irish's remarks are attached.

Shortly before the service at a separate press conference, Senator Robert Menendez released the results of the investigation that he performed with Senators Frank Lautenburg, Charles Schumer and Kristen Gillibrand into the release of the man convicted of bombing Pan Am Flight 103. That report can be found by following the link below as well.
