Lisa Monaco
Received the Keeping the Spirit Alive Award on October 16, 2024
Lisa Monaco, Deputy Attorney General of the United States received this award for her work in the FBI under Director Muller, as Homeland Security Advisor under President Obama, and especially as DAG over the last four years. She went above and beyond her brief to keep the memory of our loved ones alive. The Department of Justice would not be preparing to try accused bomber Abu Agila Mas'ud in the U.S. in 2025 if not for the commitment DAG Monaco made to bring him to the U.S. Her unwavering support and willingness to meet with families, her dedication to spend December 21st with us, and her tireless work on this case all demonstrate DAG Monaco's commitment to the victims of Pan Am Flight 103. Kara Weipz, President of VPAF103, Inc. said, "We are grateful for all you have done to support us and help keep their spirit alive."
