Kara Monetti Weipz

Kara Weipz is in her 5th term as president of the Board of Directors for the Victims of Pan Am Flight 103, Inc. She was first elected in 2000, where she served 3 years as Secretary. In 2003, she was elected President and served for the next 6 years. During this time the UN & US Sanctions against Libya were lifted, and they were removed from the State Sponsors of Terrorism List. Libya also accepted responsibility for the bombing and paid out 2.7-billion-dollar Settlement to the families. In 2017, Kara was elected again as President and currently holds the position today. Her brother, Richard (Rick) Monetti was killed on Pan Am 103. He was a 20-year-old Syracuse student returning home from a semester studying abroad.
In 2009, Kara created The Schoolhouse Nursery School and Kindergarten and currently, still owns and operates the preschool in Mount Laurel, NJ. In the last 12 years, it has become one of the most sought out preschools in South Jersey. The hands-on approach to learning and emphasis on emotional learning, has allowed preschoolers to thrive while preparing them academically for elementary school.
Prior to opening The Schoolhouse, Kara taught at Trinity Nursery School and The School District of the Chathams. She is a graduate of Seton Hall University. Kara is married to Joe Weipz, and they have 3 sons. Ricky (25) is a Graduate Assistant for the Men’s Basketball team at George Mason University, Christopher (21) is a junior at Seton Hall University, and Keegan (19) is a freshman at Xavier University.
