Edward Galvin

Edward Galvin had a 40-year career as an archivist and records manager. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the Society of American Archivists and a Charter Member of the Academy of Certified Archivists

In 1995 he joined Syracuse University as Director of Archives and Records Management where he also held the title of Pan Am Flight 103 Archivist until his retirement in 2015. During his tenure he expanded the Archives to include all 270 victims and visited Lockerbie where he was part of a team that conducted interviews with first responders and others who lived through the tragedy. For his work with Pan Am 103 Ed received the Chancellor’s Citation for Excellence in 2013. He has been a member of the VPAD 103 Advisory Board since 2012 and serves as its historian.

Ed and his wife Beth live on Cape Cod and are proud parents of three grown children and three growing grandchildren.
