Catherine Sigal

Catherine is retired from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (now called Breakthrough T1D), where she served as Director of International Research.  Prior to that, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health; a chemical engineer at Merck Research Laboratories; and a chemical engineer at Mobil Research and Development Corporation. Cathy earned a B.S. degree in chemistry from NC State University (1976); an A.M. in chemistry from Harvard University (1978); an M.S. in chemical engineering from MIT (1981); and a PhD in molecular biology from Princeton (1995). She currently serves on several volunteer boards. Catherine is the widow of victim Irving Sigal.
